Born in South Korea, he moved to Canada as a child, where he grew up with dreams of acting. In his early twenties, Woo-shik returned to Korea, ready to take on the entertainment industry. He officially debuted as an actor in 2012. He started with small roles, but his talent shone through, and soon he was landing major parts in popular dramas like Rooftop Prince.His big break came in 2014 with Set Me Free, where his performance earned him awards. But it was in Train to Busan (2016) and especially the Oscar-winning Parasite (2019) that he really captured global attention.
